Assessment of the Renal Elimination of a Radiolabelled Fluoroquinolone Antibiotic Using Combined PET/MR Imaging

7 Mar 2016

This application note describes a study in which the potential of a drug to interfere with the renal elimination of a radiolabelled fluoroquinolone (FQ) antibiotic was assessed. FQs are an important class of antibiotics that possess a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Use of the Bruker ICON 1T system, allowed clear visualization and ease-of-transfer between imaging systems to confirm that compound A has the potential to interfere with the renal elimination of FQs.
