Basic Considerations for Bioluminescence Resonance Energy Transfer (BRET) Assays for G-protein Coupled Receptor Protein Interactions in Living Cells

20 Jun 2013

BRET has been successfully applied to the study of GPCR homo- and heterodimerization as well as receptor/β-arrestin interactions involved in receptor desensitisation and trafficking in mammalian cells. The main advantage of BRET is that it allows protein-protein interactions to be monitored in real-time, in their correct location, in live cells. In this application note read about the basic considerations for a BRET assay when studying protein interactions in living cells.
