Characterization of Antigen-Specific Naive and Memory T Cell Subsets

Infection-related mortality is a considerable clinical challenge in immunocompromised individuals. Pathogenspecific T cells are crucial mediators of immune protection as shown for example by adoptive transfer of antigenspecific T cells. However, for both predicting or diagnosing infectious complications as well as for the development of effective therapies it is crucial to have reliable methods to phenotypically and functionally characterize the antigenspecific T cells.
