DNA human identification from bone fragments using the Precellys 24 Touch

7 Apr 2022

Bone fragment is the most common sample used for DNA human identification from carbonized bodies or corpses, where other organic material is lacking. The scarce DNA in this type of evidence can often prevent traditional methodologies for DNA extraction and purification, such as phenol-chloroform with Proteinase K digestion, from generating a conclusive result.

In this application note, discover how a new methodology based on the Precellys® 24 Touch can provide improved yield and recovery of genetic loci from bone samples in forensic routines.
