Field Flow Fractionation Analysis of Host-Guest Complexes

13 Mar 2017

Host-guest chemistry allows for conjugation through non-covalent interactions of a hollow compound (host) to one or more molecules displaying recognition moieties (guests), however formed complexes can present stability issues during characterisation analysis. This application note describes how Asymmetric Flow Field-Flow Fractionation (AFFF) in combination with multi-angle light scattering (MALS) can be used effectively to evaluate stability and stoichiometry of host-guest complexes, using an Eclipse Dualtec, miniDAWN TREOS and an Optilab T-rEX.
