High-throughput quantitation of toxic impurities in hair and skincare products using headspace-SIFT-MS

14 Aug 2024

Personal care products (PCPs) are intended for regular use on the body, yet several volatile organic compounds (VOCs) commonly feature among ingredients of concern. This includes known or suspected carcinogens benzene, 1,4-dioxane, and formaldehyde. Syft Technologies presents the headspace-SIFT-MS (selected ion flow tube mass spectrometry) method, for all-in-one analysis of these three impurities in retail hair and skincare products. See how daily sample throughput can be achieved 8- to 30-fold faster with SIFT-MS compared with conventional GC-MS methods.
