iCell Cardiomyocytes: Assaying Caspase Activity and Apoptosis

23 Sept 2012

Caspases are critical effector molecules of programmed cell death and are one of the most commonly used markers in the field of mammalian apoptosis. This application note describes how caspsase activity can be detected in iCell® Cardiomyocytes, from Cellular Dynamics International, in response to staurosporine, amoxapine, and emetine using the Caspsase-Glo® 3/7 Assay from Promega. iCell Cardiomyocytes are therefore an amenable cellular tool for in vitro apoptosis assays investigating the activation of caspase pathways.
