Impacting Recoveries: Excessive Solvent Washing of Concentrator Tubes

15 Oct 2015

This application note presents a study to determine the washing technique for a DryVap® concentrator tube which optimizes the recovery of both low and high boiling point compounds. Aliphatic compounds were chosen due to their weak intermolecular forces. The more volatile compounds in the mix are difficult to retain during the concentration and subsequent washing process, while the higher boiling compounds are more likely to adsorb onto the glass walls.
