Internal Standard Application to Dried Blood Spots (DBS) - Evaluation of a Novel Automated Application System

Bioanalytics by LC-MS/MS usually requires an internal standard (IS) to compensate e.g. for variations in extraction efficiency and matrix effects. So far, in DBS analysis, the IS is usually contained in the extraction solvent, and therefore does not compensate for any losses during sample preparation or extraction. In this poster, the authors investigate alternative methods for IS addition.
