Lab Automation - The Perfect Start to Reducing Healthcare Costs

The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Trust has invested well over £6 million in a far-reaching improvement programme. This is designed to transform and streamline the hospital’s physical infrastructure and environment so that more patients can be treated. Part of this investment programme has been to develop one of the first combined blood science units in the NHS. This case study looks at the return on investment that the laboratory has already achieved. It demonstrates how quality and productivity can be improved whilst maintaining or reducing staff costs.
