Measuring Canopy Gas Exchange with the LI-6400 Portable Photosynthesis System

This application note describes the design and implementation of a simple continuous flow “open” canopy chamber system based around the LI-6400 Portable Photosynthesis System. This system allows steady-state canopy fluxes to be measured over a period of several hours or days, and is less susceptible to errors introduced by leaks and water sorption than a closed system.
