Monitoring Chlorine to Prevent Refinery Corrosion
5 Jun 2016This application note describes using the continuous flow option, Clora Accu-Flow, on a Monochromatic Wavelength Dispersive XRF (MWDXRF) benchtop chlorine spectrometer in order to determine the chlorine concentration at a refinery. If chlorine is not removed from the crude oil at the refinery it can hydrolyze during processing to form hydrochloric acid.
