Multifocal Plane Analysis is Essential for Accurate Cell Viability Assessment Using an Automated Cell Counter

This application note demonstrates how single and multiple focal plane analyses can affect live vs. dead cell ratio determination. Using just a single focal plane for analysis not only increases the risk of mistaking live cells for dead ones, but also the likelihood of severely undercounting total number of cells. Comparative analysis between automated and manual cell counting is carried out.
