One-minute drug panel screening with LC-HRMS

In this application note, Phenomenex details a study that was conducted to validate a bioanalytical method for preliminary screening of nine drugs in urine. The study aimed to address gaps in commercially available screening technologies by utilizing high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) as an alternative. The LC-MS method with a Kinetex^® 2.6 µm EVO C18 LC column allowed ultra-fast screening (cycle time ~1 min) for analytes that could not be screened using traditional methods. Complete hydrolysis was achieved within 5 minutes using a novel enzyme. The method met specifications for linearity, lower limit of quantitation (LLOQ), precision and accuracy, specificity, selectivity, and matrix effects.
