Rapidly Predict Formulation Stability Using the UNit

13 Oct 2015

Determining the stability of proteins is crucial to ensuring a successful biologic. The UNit measures multiple stability-indicating parameters to rapidly predict protein stability for 144 samples per day. For each sample in this experiment, the UNit simultaneously determined that each was initially predominately monomeric and that little to no unfolding had occurred (with the exception of 2 formulations) prior to any stress being applied. In this application note, the UNit was utilized to acquire simultaneous thermal melting points (Tm) and aggregation onset temperatures (Tagg). The data acquired from these measurements was used to demonstrate that formulations with the highest Tm and Tagg have less probability of protein unfolding and aggregation during long-term storage.
