SSCP Analyses in Exons 7–9 and 9–10 of the Tumor Suppressor Gene p53

29 Jul 2013

Alterations in tumor suppressor genes, such as p53, and cellular oncogenes play a major role in the formation of most human cancers. As the list of cancers involving p53 mutations increase, there is a need for accurate, consistently reproducible and rapid screening methods for these mutations. This Application Note demonstrates the use of PCR-SSCP and flatbed electrophoresis to analyze freshly frozen tissue from breast cancer tumors.
