Polymer properties can be tailored for a range of applications, from containers and fittings to viscosity modifiers and drug delivery vehicles. Polymer scientists are continually striving to manufacture products which have these tailored characteristics by controlling the molecular weight, branching and chemistry of polymers. This application note describes how changing properties such as molecular weight, polydispersity and branching can affect the bulk properties of a polymer using Malvern’s OMNISEC.
