Disruptive innovations in the sepsis patient pathway and the impact on antibiotic stewardship

In this symposium, the focus was on the sepsis patient pathway and how new technology can enhance antibiotic stewardship and improve patient outcomes. The discussion covers current practices in the microbiology laboratory, such as antimicrobial-susceptibility testing biomarkers and molecular testing, and potential areas for improvement were identified. Laboratories are facing growing pressure to enhance antibiotic stewardship and achieve better patient outcomes. The experts involved in this session explored existing practices and highlighted the need for innovative approaches to enhance antibiotic use.
