Exploring the future of structural biology: Advancements in ion mobility-mass spectrometry for high-resolution protein analysis

Prof. Brandon Ruotolo, Associate Chair for Research and Professor of Chemistry, University of Michigan, discusses his research on developing ion mobility-mass spectrometry (IM-MS) methods as a tool for structural biology. Prof. Ruotolo explains how IM-MS can be used to gain high-resolution structural information on proteins and protein complexes that can be used to inform the development of new drug therapies. Prof. Ruotolo also provides his perspective on the future of structural biology and the potential applications of mass spectrometry in overcoming challenging membrane protein characterization.
