Molecular Devices Launches High-Content Imaging System with New 3D Analysis Software
ImageXpress and MetaXpress High-Content Toolset enables breakthrough Three-Dimensional assay development and Screening Workflow for cellular research
19 Apr 2016Molecular Devices, LLC, a leader in protein and cell biology technologies, has announced the launch of its ImageXpress® Micro 4 High-Content Imaging System and revolutionary 3D image analysis capability in the latest version of MetaXpress® High-Content Image Acquisition and Analysis Software.
For scientists conducting basic research or high-throughput screening, the ImageXpress System is a premiere, integrated and scalable toolset for optimal 3D image acquisition and analysis.
“The research community has an increasing interest in products that use 3D cellular models such as spheroids, tissues and organisms to improve biologic relevance. Unfortunately, poorly integrated tools and software analysis programs have created a significant barrier to developing assays and obtaining fast, automated readouts,” said Grischa Chandy, Ph.D., Senior Product Manager at Molecular Devices. “With the new ImageXpress system and MetaXpress 3D software toolkit our customers can directly access a smooth and integrated workflow, eliminating the need for third-party tools and time-consuming bottlenecks for acquisition and analysis of complex 3D datasets.”
The ImageXpress Micro 4 High-Content Imaging System is the latest addition to Molecular Devices’ ImageXpress System portfolio. Its modular configuration allows researchers to customize the system to fit individual needs, now including the ability to add confocal capability with the AgileOptix™ spinning disc confocal module without disruption to existing workflows.
“We continue to invest in advancing protein and cell biology research, putting innovative tools in the hands of scientists and breaking down barriers to new discoveries,” said Greg Milosevich, President at Molecular Devices. “Following on the launch of our confocal imaging instrument late last year, we are committed to building on the strong foundation of proven, reliable and agile high-content imaging solutions in our ImageXpress portfolio.”
