Winner of the Scientists’ Choice Award for Best New Life Sciences Product of 2013 Announced at AACR

SelectScience is delighted to announce the QX200™ Droplet Digital™ PCR System, by Bio-Rad, as the winner of the Scientists’ Choice Award for Best New Life Sciences Product of 2013. The award was presented to Bio-Rad at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting, San Diego, USA, held April 5th-9th. Watch the award presentation here.

Nominated and voted for by the SelectScience Life Sciences Community, the QX200™ Droplet Digital™ PCR System is recognized to have significantly contributed towards laboratory efforts in 2013. This is the second time that Bio-Rad has received a Scientists’ Choice Award, with the Trans-Blot® Turbo™ Transfer System winning Best New Life Sciences Product in 2011.

Winner of the Best New Life Sciences Product of 2013
The QX200 system implements Bio-Rad's unique Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR™) digital PCR technology for the absolute quantification of target DNA or RNA molecules without the use of standard curves. The system can be used for applications in cancer research, pathogen detection and next generation sequencing, among others.

Scientists around the world were invited to nominate and then vote for their favorite Life Sciences product, launched in 2013, in a series of online surveys.
