2D HPE gels are 650 µm thick – optimised for efficient cooling and staining, without showing overloading effects for highly abundant proteins.
To ensure complete transfer of proteins from the first into the second dimension gel, the composition oft he polyacrylamide matrix of the 2D HPE gels is modified and allows the application of the IPG strip in a sample trench. Shelf-life of the HPE gels is 24 months, and remain stable during storage period. All state-of-the art fluorescent detection (including DIGE and SERVAPurple) can be applied using HPE gels polymerised on non-fluorescent fim-backing (NF). The HPE™ BlueTower™/BlueHorizon™ flatbed electrophoresis devices protect gels from light during the run. No large buffer volumes are needed, the buffer concentrates are included and ready to use.
