This semi-skirted low profile plate is designed for ABi Fast Block thermal cyclers, meaning the benefits of a two-component plate can be utilised with this instrument. This plate is also a Low Profile plate, meaning it has 0.1ml volume wells, as opposed to the standard 0.2ml. This volume reduces the “dead space” between well and thermal block, in turn reducing condensation forming on the side walls of the tubes, preventing a reduction in PCR volume and increasing the efficiency of the reaction. Low Profile products are especially recommended for use with reaction volumes below 20 µl.
