Extract and label proteins from extremely limited sample sizes
- The first commercially available nanoscale buffer kit for antibody arrays
- Minimal background for high signal-to-noise ratios
- Optimized for use with the Clontech™ Ab Microarray 500
Kimberly Milner and Dmitry Bochkariov, Ph.D.
The Clontech™ Antibody Array Nanoscale Buffer Kits designed for those who have limited amounts of sample and want to assay hundreds of cellular proteins in a single experiment. Ideal for use with the Clontech™ Ab Microarray 500, the kit offers a gentle, nondenaturing method for preparing total protein extract from extremely limited samples, including fine needle aspirate, serum, tissue, and as few as 1,000 cells.
Fast & convenient protocol
The Nanoscale Buffer Kit provides a novel method of extracting and fluorescently labeling proteins from limited samples. The protocol saves sample and can be completed in just one day—from sample preparation to data aquisition. Specialized training is not required and the slides are compatible with commercially available fluorescence scanners.
Unique buffer formulation
The extraction/labeling buffer is optimized for labeling with N-hydroxysuccinimide (NHS)-ester dyes (including Cy3 and Cy5 dyes). The extraction/ labeling buffer, incubation, and wash buffers are formulated to minimize nonspecific background binding and yield a high signal-to-noise ratio.
FluorTrap Matrix purification
The kit uses FluorTrap Matrix technology to purify fluorescently labeled cellular proteins from extremely limited samples. The FluorTrap Matrix is a unique solid phase resin that selectively binds a wide variety of low molecular weight fluorescent dyes from N-hydroxysuccinimide-activated coupling reactions. This resin is ideal for purifying limited samples because it replaces time-consuming column purification techniques that result in diluted protein and sample loss.
Specially designed coverslips
The assay cover slips are specially designed to facilitate the application of very small samples to a slide while maintaining uniform distribution of the sample and preventing mechanical damage to the slide surface.
The kit includes all necessary components to perform two Ab Microarray experiments. The Ab Microarrays are sold separately as a set of two identical arrays. The Cy3 and Cy5 dyes must be purchased separately.
