Analyze SOC in Soil
The FieldSpec4 we purchased from Malvern Panalyticals has been very effective but for over 2 years now due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been no visit from the company to check the machine - if the calibrations are all right. The product produces high quality and reproducible results as compared to the SSAN samples from Australia. If one follows the manufacturer's instructions carefully, it is a good equipment to have in the lab because it uses nondestructive samples preparations, it is rapid, accurate, cost-effective, and uses an efficient analytical method. If one follows the manufactures and software instructions carefully it is an easy-to-use equipment, but the after-sales care has not been good enough due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ASD Fieldspec 4 helps me in my research work to utilise the hyperspectral data in many applications such as plants discrimination and quality of medicines. The results achieved were promising and clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the instrument in helping researchers and scientists in the remote sensing field. In my research, the result was high in terms of accuracy by using machine learning techniques. The hyperspectral reflectance of an object can identify the physical and chemical properties of the materials. The instrument was easy to use end data was collected in the field as well as laboratory. Annual maintenance was performed on the time under the supervision of well-trained people. From my experience with this instrument, which extends to five years, I recommend such instruments in many research applications like ecological, medical, industry.

Easy to use, rapid, cost-effective, non-destructive sampling, accurate, and efficient analytical product. The after sales care is excellent and on the scale 1 to 10, 10 best being the best, I would give it an 8.

Crop water stress detection
A very powerful spectroradiometer that allowed us to achieve reproducible results over small (leaf) and large scale (canopy). During the Goetz project, I used it easily. It is a very smart device in the spectral acquisition at the leaf scale through the use of the contact probe and the viewspec SW. The optimization phase of the radiation regime is very rapid and the quality of the spectra is good, with little noise/shift at the sensor's edge points. I recommend it for the high accuracy of the spectral data. In my experience, I quantified very small variations in cell structural properties and water content of the olive leaf.
