Image protein gels
Before getting this imager, we used an older model without luminescence capability. I really like that this imager was affordable, easy to use, had an easy set up, and was able to image the gels that my team and I needed.

Scan mouse tissues, chemiluminescence, fluorescent slides
The imager combines fluorescence, while using four solid state lasers as excitation sources (450, 520, 660, and 780 nm), chemiluminescence, and radioisotope imaging. It has so many amazing capabilities. I used it for whole tissue liver imaging and the layout was very simple, convenient and had user-friendly software that we were able to use right away. It is fast and accurate. The application of the four-channel fluorescence mode or white light beam at 10-μm resolution could detect gross anatomy and morphology of liver tissues, mainly based on tissue autofluorescence, I also use the imager for chemiluminescent western blots, immunostained slides, but mostly whole organ imaging. I also find the Azure Spot quantification software very useful.

Analyze DNA, protein gel images
It is so easy to use and provides high resolution images. Also easy to transfer the images and put in the notes. We can even image bacterial cells expressing fluorescent protein.

Western blot and DNA gel imaging
The azure gel imager series replaces the need for dark room/film-based applications, which are usually laborious and costly to maintain. This series is comparable to film sensitivity, very user-friendly and low footprint, compared to its more costly competitors. More importantly, the post-sales service by Azure and its distributor has been excellent and never fails to deliver in terms of service speed and efficiency - something that the major brands are lacking in current times. In terms of cost, reliability and maintenance, it is definitely within a lab's budget, very reasonably priced and low cost to maintain. Though it is a fairly new introduction in the imager arena, it definitely punches above its weight. The only con to this machine is that it can accommodate 1 user per scanning unless multiple users are willing to scan at the same time.

Analytical development
This May, our Azure C400 imager had a focus problem. The images generated by the imager were blurry and the focus could not be adjusted appropriately. We called Azure for service. Emma is our local technical product specialist, she responded to our call immediately. She communicated with our analysts about the technical details and included her senior specialists. She then came onsite quickly and successfully solved the problem. We are confident in using the Azure imager now and we believe Azure has a strong technical team and excellent customer service.

Western blot analyses
The c400 is incredibly user friendly. Using custom time intervals and sensitivities with this machine will save you tons of time in the dark room if you still develop film. The versatility makes this a product a simple purchase for those just starting to put a lab together and want to do two-channel IR direct detection, chemiluminescence, DNA/protein blot images, or even 3-channel visible fluorescent detection if you feel the need to upgrade in the future. The company has also been easy to contact with questions and demonstrations. We highly recommend this product and company.
