CELLINK BIO X6
The 6 printhead 3D bioprinter that epitomizes user-friendly flexibility and optimizing high-throughput 3D cell culturing to create the future of medicine.
Bioprinting
The BioX6 printer is an exclellent instrument. The equipment is relatively easy to set up and use, with minimal training. CellInk also supplies ready-to-use biological inks to get you started. Resolution is good and using multiple heads and materials is straightforward. The multiple head option allows for a variety of applications, making it an ideal tool for us. The ability to manage print settings on the fly saves time, we also appreciate being able to work directly on the G code for a specific tool path, and overall we like the user interface which allows us to programme our manufacturing work. We've found the coaxial print head and electromagnetic droplet print head particularly useful, in addition to the conventional and pneumatic heads. All in all, we are extremely pleased with it - a very good value investment.

Biomedical research
We bought this printer in January as part of a new bioprinting and biomaterials suite our platform is establishing. The system is very user-friendly, and the modular heads give it a wide range of functionalities. We have used it for extrusion printing, co-axial printing, and droplet printing, and in the future also plan to use the photo-crosslinking and syringe pump functionalities. The clean chamber option means we can print with cells and keep things sterile without having to put the printer in a biosafety cabinet. The support we have received from the company has been great but could be improved with a dedicated service contract option.

Cell culturing
I've worked a lot with CELLINK's BioX and can definitely recommend it. The BioX has a high resolution, temperature controllable printheads as well as a print bed and is very easy to use. The trickiest part when bioprinting a model is to make the 3D model itself, I would say, and to customize the printing pattern, slice the model etc. The good thing with the BioX is that you can start from an stl file of your 3D object and easily set up your printing parameters on the printer, and it slices the model for you. For advanced models with several objects however you still have to use g-codes, but CELLINK has a really good support side on their webpage with guides on how to write/customize g-codes.

- Use several crosslinking modalities and multimaterial constructs in one protocol.
- Bioprint with more materials for even more complex models. Independent dual pressure that enables co-axial and mixing printing.
- Six printheads gives a significantly increased throughput, cutting down overall print time and improving experiment efficiency.
- Leverage the use of mechanical, droplet or pneumatic extrusion all in one construct.
- Utilize a range of materials and cell types thanks to precise printhead and printbed temperature control.
- Open material platform – print with any materials, yours or ours on the BIO X6. Built-in UV sterilization and HEPA filters bring the sterility of the biosafety cabinet to the benchtop.
- Control every aspect of your print from the intuitive and easy-to-use DNA Studio software on your tablet or laptop.
- Whether it is multilayer printing, layer-by-layer crosslinking, custom material definition or even protocol saving, the BIO X6 software has it all.
- With a total of 8 printheads and toolheads available leverage multiple biofabrication modalities on one system.
