The Flexipump that we purchased from Interscience has been incorporated into our routine laboratory practices and has become an essential instrument for the preparation of sterile microbiological media, solutions and testing. It has precise dispensing capabilities as it is calibrated quickly according to the liquid being used with a user friendly LCD screen display on the instrument which instructs you through the process. Our precision has been improved dramatically in our dilutions since using the Flexipump in food microbiological testing. Dispensing various sterile enrichment broths has also made the processing of food test samples much faster, with the press of a button on the the instrument the precise volume of liquid is dispensed (e.g. 225 ml) into the sample test bag and allows for high number of samples to be processed in a short amount of time, without continuously measuring manually the volume required every time. Setting up the pump is very easy and is done in a matter of seconds, cleaning the pump tubing is essential for the proper functioning of the Flexipump we achieve this through a rigorous cleaning regime.
