Kits are designed to provide a highly effective and rapid screening method for the crystallization o

Every time that I used hr2-130 and hr2-134 crystallization screen to crystalize my proteins, I get lots of crystals which most of them are protein crystals. they have several varieties of conditions which are so good for initial screens.

Sample Handling And Quality

Index HT formulated by Hampton Research is good for screening the initial crystallization. It is also useful for finding a good solubility solution for the protein of interest. This screen contains 96 solutions with different concentration of salts and also with varying pHs. This is very good screen for finding the initial crystallization condition for a protein. Besides crystallization these screens provide an excellent opportunity to find a good buffer for the protein of interest. I recommend these screen to be used for both crystallization and checking solubility of the protein of interest.

Index is designed as a 96 reagent crystallization screen that combines the strategies of the grid, sparse matrix, and incomplete factorial screening with traditional, contemporary, and new crystallization reagent systems into a highly effective and efficient format.

Index, as the name implies, efficiently samples a series of specially formulated reagent zones to identify which reagent class or classes and pH are effective in producing crystals or limiting sample solubility.

Results from Index can be used to design optimization experiments and to identify follow on screens by reagent class. For example, positive results with salt based reagent in Index may be followed up with further screening using SaltRx or Grid Screen Salt. Success with polymer based reagents in Index may be followed up with further screening using PEGRx or PEG/Ion.
