Western Blot - We use it for semi-quantitative protein expression analysis
iBind™ Flex Western Device is a fantastic, very easy-to-use device for quick Western Blot (WB) analyses. Though it is MUCH easier and quicker (2-2.5 hrs) to use than conventional WB methods, it is not as sensitive as our method when blotting against Strep. I only use our conventional method when I work with more-difficult-than-usual proteins. Apart from the aforementioned advantages, this device is brilliant when needing to analyse proteins/protein complexes with different tags, since you can run up to 6 different-tagged proteins at once. Also, no hazardous chemicals or reagents are used; cleaning and clean-up time is negligent. Just make sure that you a) rinse the blot really well with dH2O before development, and b) rinse the device really well with dH2O after use.

The system is especially useful for loading controls (e.g. actin) or highly expressed proteins.

Based on Sequential Lateral Flow (SLF) technology, all blocking, antibody incubation and washing steps during immunodetection are hands-free. Compared to manual methods, the iBind Flex Western System requires less primary antibody, enables reproducible results and is compatible with downstream detection protocols.
