Used for identifications of functional groups and regions
I got satisfactory results when I used my synthesized compounds for the identifications of FTIR studies. I got the acceptable regions for both functional group regions as well as fingerprint regions. The equipment is ease to use. The software I used is IR solution, and is quite friendly.

Analysis of coffee, adulteration of food products in general
The equipment is working great for us, in both the diffuse reflectance and ATR modes. It can also work with transmittance readings but it takes a lot of work to prepare the samples (pressing the KBr disk) so from our experience it was better to work with the diffuse reflectance accessory (you only need to mix the KBr with your sample). We have employed it mainly for the analysis of coffee samples (solid and liquid) targeting adulteration and quality evaluation. It has also been used for the surface analysis of activated carbons.

Food analysis, biofuels
I´ve had this one for over four years and never had any problems. It is easy to operate, with a wide range of sampling accessories (ATR, DRIFTS, and transmittance) and allows analysis of both solid and liquid samples. I have no complaints.

Easy to use and clean. Very little sample used and can be just wiped out to clean. It is difficult to maintain as the instrument goes to low power out put very often. Difficult to contact the technical support.
