Lightning-Link™ kits
The DIY Lightning-Link™ kit allows you to label an antibody with minimal hands-on time - less than 30 seconds. Simply add your antibody solution to a tube of Lightning-Link™ mix and the label becomes covalently attached to your antibody in a gentle controlled process. Lightning-Link is the easiest and quickest method available for antibody conjugation.
Go ‘direct’
Direct antibodies labelling greatly simplifies immunodetection techniques. Without the problems of crossover and/or non-specific binding from secondary reagents it is far easier to obtain high quality, pioneering results in techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. A reduction in the number of incubation and wash steps also saves you time and money.
The antibody conjugates:
R-Phycoerythrin (R-PE) is a large 240kDa red phycobiliprotein isolated from red algae. It has a strong absorption peak at 565nm and a secondary absorption peak at 492nm. The maximum emission peak is at 575nm and its extinction coefficient is 1.96 x 106 cm-1 M-1. The protein is commonly used for fluorescent immunolabeling, particularly in applications involving fluorescent-activated cell sorting.
B-Phycoerythrin (B-PE) is another red 240kDa phycobiliprotein. Due to its different subunit composition, B-PE has a slightly different absorbance and emission spectrum to R-PE and could therefore be better suited to some instruments. B-Phycoerythrin absorbs strongly at 545nm and emits strongly at 575nm with an extinction coefficient of 2.41 x 106 cm-1 M-1.
C-Phycoerythrin (C-PE) is a much smaller 40kDa phycobiliprotein isolated from a proprietary cyanobacterium. It has an absorption peak at 550nm and an emission peak at 575nm. The protein has an extinction coefficient of 2.65 x 105 cm-1 M-1.
