I have been using the NextSeq for the past six months, and it has been a wonderful experience. From installation to ease of use, everything has been seamless. The customer support is excellent; they respond quickly to any questions and are very considerate in accommodating our reagent needs. For example, they send reagents with long expiration dates and replace any expiring ones. The instrument itself is very attractive with a modern design and is super easy to operate. The onscreen prompts guide you through the next steps to initiate the run. Once the instrument starts, it provides an onscreen display of progress and the quality of the sequences. After the run, it provides guidelines on how to dismantle and recycle the cartridge components.

Great mid range short read sequencer

Great mid-range sequencer. Not cheapest but great for small to medium sequencing core facilities. Very reliable and easy to use. Also modified library preps reduce library costs too... these were the workhorse for sequencing 80,000 COVID genomes over 2 years in our lab supporting the UK surveillance of new variants.
