Diagnostic PCR testing
The SmartCycler PCR machine is very versatile in that more than one PCR assays can be performed at a time. Although somewhat limited on the number of samples that can be tested the best feature is being able to do more than one test at time. The software is also very easy to learn and optimizing assay parameters is a matter of a few clicks and keystrokes. The company also provides good turnaround time for maintenance and service requests.

We currently use the instrument for our Prohibited material multiplex assay.
The unit has performed well over the last 5 years. We have had no issues with it nor the software. Interpretation of the results has been very straight forward. Calibration and certification of the unit has been very smooth and Cepheid has made it easy.
