Wide-field high resolution histology photos
No other scope setup gives this high quality of wide-field + high resolution views. When trying to show an entire structure (say, the entirety of a human eye section stained with H&E) a dissecting scope is needed for the wide field, but often times the quality of the image is lower. Low power magnification does NOT have to mean low resolution images with this microscope. I can't live without it. It's an expensive scope (top of that line for them) but it's in constant demand in the lab now because of how beautiful the pictures are. Definitely getting our money's worth. The rep for Olympus is thorough, respectful, knowledgeable, and professional. He cares so much about the scopes and is able to help us with any issues we have, remotely if we want, or on-site if we need. I'm not looking at other companies anymore.

Meet the Challenges of Life Science Stereo Imaging with the SZX16 from Olympus
Its maximum numerical aperture (NA) of 0.3 produces a resolution of 900 linepairs per millimeter, enabling more sample information to be gained efficiently. The large zoom ratio of 16.4:1, combined with the comprehensive range of parfocal objectives with excellent working distances, allows easy switching between a macro- and micro-view. Imaging of the whole organism down to fine microscopic and individual cell structures becomes an easy task with an optical system that provides a natural, distortion-free view.
