Thawing of cryogenic vials
The most common method of thawing cryopreserved cells and cell-based therapeutics involves sequentially placing frozen vials or bags into a warm water bath—a method fraught with challenges that leaves the cells and therapies at risk of contamination and potentially jeopardizes drug efficacy and safety. This thawing system utilizes an adaptive, load-sensing technology that senses the initial starting temperature and phase change initiation and customizes the thaw for each vial, ensuring consistent and reproducible endpoints. Vials can be inserted directly from liquid nitrogen storage, dry ice, or ultra-low freezer storage.

We have been using this product for 6 months now, I am pretty impressed with product. It allows me to do various other work vial its thawing and gives a sound when it’s done.

ThawSTAR™ CFT Transporter is a portable solution for the handling and transport of frozen vials from long-term storage in vapor phase liquid nitrogen or in a -80°C freezer to downstream processing with the ThawSTAR automated cell thawing system. The transporter is comprised of an outer insulative foam holder, and an internal round CoolRack®; sample module that accommodates up to five 1.8 or 2.0 mL cryogenic vials.
