The Taq PreMix is a wonderful product that has been used in our lab since a long time. We have been using the same for Bisulfite PCRs and also for Methylation Specific PCRs. Methylation detection for forensic applications from blood samples
The ZymoTaq DNA Polymerase was very easy to use along with the product information sheet available on the website. I have even successfully used this kit to compete half-reactions intended for use in microfluidic applications, and the chemistry appears to be sensitive with very reproducible results with down to 1 ng/µL of input DNA standard. The reaction setup is simple and straightforward and the technical support staff has been willing to walk me through it each time I have called. For methylation-specific PCR, I think Zymo provides the best products for the price. I recommend this chemistry to all of my friends and colleagues looking to begin projects in epigenetics research without breaking the bank.

Amplification of converted methylated DNA
I like using ZymoTaq for amplification of methylated DNA after conversion. Compared to PCR enzymes from other vendors, ZymoTaq provides superior performance. Some of our targets cannot be amplified by anything else other than ZymoTaq.

Amplify bisulfite-converted DNA templates
I have been using this product for years now in all my epigenetic-based assays, which I develop for forensic applications. The product comes in the form of premix, therefore it is very easy and quick to use, cost-effective and mainly, has been working 95% of the time when designing new bisuflite-converted DNA primers. Researchers familiar with such analysis will understand how difficult sometimes is to efficiently amplify the difficult, T-rich nature of these converted templates.

ZymoTaq™ DNA Polymerase is a hot-start polymerase that is ideal for amplification of bisulfite-converted DNA. Because it is a heat-activated, thermostable DNA polymerase, ZymoTaq™ reduces primer dimer and nonspecific product formation, whereas conventional polymerases typically exhibit these problems with bisulfite-converted DNA templates. In addition to the amplification of bisulfite-treated DNA for methylation detection, ZymoTaq™ DNA polymerase can also be used for conventional PCR, and real time PCR. The enzyme also has 3-terminal transferase activity, making it ideal for use in TA-cloning by the addition of "A" overhangs to amplified DNA.
