Serum
The Cobas 411 is easy to work with and gives results quicker than other immunoassay instruments like Vidas. However, it requires calibration and controls three days per week and other products for this device like LFC are consumed more than other devices. In addition, stability of some kit hormones are weak, so after opening any kit it should be consumed within a month.

Blood transfusion medicine laboratory for screening disease markers
Very easy to use and reliable equipment. Hands on equipment and less human error. Sensitivity and specificity is about 98.9% which is good for the tested blood products.

Good instrument, but requires frequent calibration of all parameters.
Serology and PCT
Results are high quality, evidenced by EQA program by Bio-Rad. The laboratory is ISO 15189:2012 compliant and accredited by NABL. However in our experience calibration is required with each kit. Simple lot calibration is not completely reliable. The analyzer has ease of use and our local Roche team provides excellent support.

Increased sensitivity means that extremely low levels of antigen, as well as subtle changes in levels, can be detected. The very wide measuring range facilitates cost and time efficient testing by reducing the need to dilute and repeat samples.
