Analytical Trap Comparison for Purge and Trap Analysis using USEPA Method 8260C

11 Aug 2015

Purge and trap concentration is a technique that is used for the analysis of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). The analytical trap is responsible for retaining the VOCs during the purge cycle and then releasing them upon heating and transfer to the GC/MS for separation and detection. In this application note, four analytical traps used for purge and trap analysis were compared using automated VOC sample prep systems, including Teledyne Tekmar’s Atomx, an automated VOC sample prep system.
