Characterizing Size and Concentration of Liposomes Using Multi-Angle Dynamic Light Scattering

Liposomes are frequently used as drug delivery systems. Hence, the characterization of the size and size distribution of liposomes is often required for manufacturing and batch release. This application note demonstrates the capacity of multi-angle DLS (MADLS®) in the Zetasizer Ultra for measuring particle concentration, as well as size and size distribution of a range of dilutions of a liposome sample. It also compares its effectiveness with the nanoparticle tracking analysis (NTA) technique.
