Zetasizer Pro
Advance with Confidence
Biomolecules
I usually use Zetasizer Pro Red to analyze the aggregation state of biomolecules. The biomolecules were labeled with a fluorophore that sometimes hindered the analysis because of overlapping the excitation wavelength. However, this equipment has a narrow band filter that cuts off the excessive fluorescence from the fluorophore emission so that my experiment was successfully accomplished. I tried several DLS devices, such as Otsuka, Horiba, Shimazu, and so on, but Malvern's is the best for my research. Also, the aftercare service is satisfied.

Observing polymer chain growth by monitoring size change
The product is very effective for my use. Polymer growth is a key part of my research area as it proves that the chemical reaction in my research is taking place. The Zetasizer is easy to use as there is no specific sample preparation that needs to be done for the size feature. Simply pouring the samples in a disposable cuvette and placing it in the machine is adequate. Apart from that, the built-in software was easy to handle since it follows a step-by-step process with instructions for each step which helps the user to identify what is required. Moreover, the results are processed fast hence, preliminary investigations can be easily done using the Zetasizer. Since I use it in my university lab, whenever there has been an issue, the supplier came in to do the necessary changes, calibrations or repairs. I am not involved in the purchasing department, but in terms of value for money, the instrument has various features incorporated into it, with a useful software so I believe it serves its purpose well.

Silver nanoparticles
This DLS is a user friendly instrument. You can use it with confidence even if you are a first time user. So easy to manipulate and understand. What keeps it more interesting, is it’s fast release of results with accuracy. I used three to five replicates of my sample analysis and it gives me precise results. Thus, make me confident to analyze and write my results into paper for publication. Hope it will be accepted for publication. Thanks to Malvern Panalytical - making dreams come to reality.

Aggregate size measurements
The Zetasizer is one of the most user-friendly pieces of equipment I've used so far in my career. The instrument itself is easy to set up and operate. It has demonstrated high sensitivity for size measurements, and the datasets I've collected are consistent and reproducible. The ZS XPLORER software is overall a very effective package, although I think it could use some tweaking regarding how the Options panel identifies source folders for .zmes files, especially on a multi-user workstation. Additionally, it would be really nice if the real-time read out window of the Measurement tab would show a live reading of volume as well as intensity if possible. It would also be nice if there was an option for exporting raw data in an Excel format. I work specifically with the low volume capillary apparatus, and I have found that this is a highly effective tool for what I am studying. The capillaries are disposable, but the ease of ordering them online could also use some improvement. My lab manager has previously stated that it is difficult to navigate the Malvern website re: ordering consumables. However, when communicating with sales representatives by phone, we have had great customer service. The on-site representative has been extremely helpful in training me on how to use the instrument, as well as data interpretation. Overall, I highly recommend this instrument, but think the software could use some minor improvements.

Thank you for your review, we are pleased that you like your new Zetasizer. In terms of the ZS Xplorer software platform – the software is still in its infancy and we have many ideas and feedback on how we can improve the software further to make it even easier to use. Exporting any data from a display widget can be done by simply selecting the ellipsis icon and choosing export – this will export single or multiple records of the selected information directly to the clipboard ready to paste into your favoured spreadsheet. We will also feedback to our E-Store team your comments.

The Zetasizer Pro is a robust and versatile system for the measurement of particle and molecular size and electrophoretic mobility and zeta potential of nanoparticles. It enables size measurements to be performed up to three times quicker, compared to previous models, accelerating sample throughput and freeing up operator and system time for other tasks.
Even novice users will produce the highest-quality measurements, thanks to the intuitive interface and the deep learning empowered data quality advice system that highlights issues and provides advice on how to overcome them.
The Zetasizer Pro incorporates Non-Invasive Back Scatter (NIBS®) technology for the precise measurement of particle and molecular size over an extended concentration range.
The system also provides excellent zeta and electrophoretic mobility measurements using M3-PALS technology. The addition of Constant Current Mode for measuring electrophoretic mobility and zeta potential in high conductivity media reduces the likelihood of errors associated with charge screening at higher ion concentrations.
A wide choice of cuvettes is available for a variety of measurement applications, including disposable and affordable folded capillary cells to enable measurements in very low sample volumes using our patented diffusion barrier method, without direct sample-electrode contact.
The new software suite, ZS Xplorer, is designed to simplify and automate even complex analysis, allowing challenging measurements to be completed without expert knowledge. Its unique sample-centric workflow delivers the ultimate in usability and flexibility, meaning it’s now faster and easier than ever to get from sample input to result output.
