For separation of polar small-molecule analytes in complex matrices via SFC
We have been very pleased with the chromatographic performance of the Torus range of columns, and have so far evaluated all four (Diol, 2-Pic, DEA, 1-AA) for the separation of a range of polar and non-polar metabolites by SFC. These columns offer dramatically (upwards of 40% when compared to previously available SFC columns) improved peak capacities and resolution for polar compounds in particular, and show markedly less tailing for basic compounds in the presence of methanolic co-solvents. We have also observed substantial improvements in reproducibility and robustness for high-throughput applications. Waters has been very helpful in recommending these columns for our applications, and there is no question that these columns are a wise purchase for any laboratory moving into the area of SFC.
