Staining
Stains neuronal cell bodies and axons in the CNS and periphery, small nerve fibres in peripheral tissues, neuroendocrine cells in the pituitary, thyroid, pancreas and tumours of the DNES.
Antigen preservation
Is suitable for use on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections.
Pretreatment
Microwaving the sections in citrate buffer may enable the antibody to be used at a higher dilution than those recommended.
Western blot
When tested under reducing conditions on rat brain lysate, this antibody gave a band at 27 kD.
