The FAS Digi Gel Imaging system is the latest addition to our growing FastGene family of illuminators for sensitive and safe nucleic acid detection and documentation. This imaging platform is built around the new FastGene Blue/Green LED Gel TransIlluminator, which utilizes the superior technology of ultra-bright blue and green LEDs. FastGene Blue/Green systems are the latest LED-based illuminators for detection of DNA and RNA. Blue/Green LEDs excite a broad spectrum instead of just a narrow blue band, allowing these systems to be more sensitive with the growing number of non-toxic DNA dyes as well as traditional dyes such as EtBr. The FAS Digi isn’t just safer for you and your gels, either—it can also streamline your workflow. The powerful, on-board 12 megapixel camera is easy to use and provides publication-ready images every time. When you’re done imaging the gel and ready to move on, the camera and housing are easily removed from the compact illuminator so that the system can also function as gel imaging table or a surface to excise bands.
