Provides N2 for LC-mass spec
I am frustrated by the consistent lack of understanding of the needs of an academic researcher. Reaching out to Peak for technical assistance inevitably leads to the sales team hounding you for a service contract- and absolutely laughable concept to most of academia, especially those at small schools. When I say laughable, I mean that literally- the chair and I will laugh about it for literal days on end while the follow-up emails flood in, all somehow under the false impression that we have these funds to spend but simply (and irresponsibly) won't. Would I love a service contract? Yes. In a million years, would there be funds available for yearly service contract renewals at a small university? Nope. Do I still use Peak generators for my N2 needs? Yes- for now, but that may quickly change. Last summer, a Peak service engineer (who was fantastic!) came to address a low tank pressure issue on our generator, and ended up replacing the seals. He explained that unfortunately he was not authorized to clear the very annoying "needs service" warning that blocks the display, which is simply a message on a timer that appears after one year, because I had not purchased that type of service. Not his fault- but a terrible company policy tying his hands. This irritant of a warning message prevented me from noticing a low pressure error that apparently started back in September, and now I am struggling with a generator at the brink of being non-operational that once again needs service. I would love to diagnose this problem and learn more about how I could repair my own equipment, but unfortunately, this leads me to my second huge complaint- keeping the operation manuals proprietary. I'm not talking about the cute little advertisement packet that you offer customers which claims to be an instrument manual- I mean a REAL instrument manual, with diagrams and part numbers, that analytical chemists like myself use to keep their instruments up and running. In other words, the instrument manual that you give to your service engineers should be made public. It is completely obtuse to think that any analytical chemist at any research institution could ever justify repeated expenditure of $3,000 + for something as simple as replacing seals. This is something that only industry can afford, something that no amount of sales-tag-teaming professors and their chairs will ever change. The fact that we were FORCED to do this last summer means that this new issue must go unfixed... we spent all our money allocated to repairs, thousands of dollars, on... stupid seals, probably worth $10 each. Imagine being me, talking to my chair, trying to justify funds going to yet ANOTHER plane ticket for a peak service engineer, when the last visit cost so much to fix something so simple. Releasing your instrument manual will allow us to make minor fixes on our own, AND increase the likelihood we will happily call you when something more major goes wrong. As it stands, we will begrudgingly call only after all other options have been exhausted, and will definitely not be purchasing equipment from Peak in the future. TLDR: Great machine... but pathetic repair options and lack of informational resources mean that in the long run, these generators are far inferior to a simple N2 Dewar system for mass specs.

Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry
The generator quickly reaches our desired pressure of 100psi and then automatically adjusts to maintain it, operating quietly and efficiently. Its compact design makes it easy to fit into our workspace without occupying much space. Maintenance is minimal, and the customer support team has been exceptionally helpful.

Mass Spectroscopy
The generator is very stable and works well with my LC-MS. However, maintenance is quite expensive, and technical support could not assist me in performing maintenance myself.

UPLC, HPLC
As lab manager of my company, I’m tasked with the maintenance and upkeep of all instruments and equipment within the lab. The N2 generator from Peak Scientific is one of the least problematic instruments we have. With very little after-sales care and maintenance, we’re able to benefit from it constantly for our chemist’s needs for liquid chromatography and mass spec. I personally don’t use it but have never heard a bad thing about it. Other than the initial costs up front to purchase the equipment, it is a great investment for the lab.

Proteomics, accompanied with mass spectrometer
Nitrogen generator works well during the whole year. Actually we are using two of the Genius XE generators, and there was no problem with them at all. I recommend it.

Analyse Perchlorate in drinking water
The screen on the nitrogen generator makes it easy to see hours in operation and any error messages that may occur. After purchase the sales rep reached out to see how everything was working. This nitrogen generator has had no problems after 3 years since installation.

Running multiple analytical instruments in a GMP laboratory
The product is excellent and works running multiple instruments without issue. There is no set up required, the instruments (QDA, ELSD and CAD) call for nitrogen and the generator supplies it as needed. I am extremely happy with the unit and the initial pre setup, installation and aftercare has been fantastic. Could not recommend the unit and peak more.
