The HU20 Maxi-standard horizontal gel unit is ideal for large-scale preparatory and analytical electrophoresis techniques.
A 20 x 20cm gel-casting tray, with 4 comb positions, allows the user to perform high-resolution analytical research for a maximum of 168 samples, while buffer recirculation ports are included as standard to prevent buffer depletion and ion gradient formation during long-distance separations. Casting gates with integral silicone seals provide leak-free and tape-free gel-casting either within the tank or externally, whereas HU20-SS Scie-Plas Super-Seals give the user the option of flexible gel-casting.
HU20 Maxi Standard Horizontal Units Features:
- The market standard – a 15 x 15cm gel tray, with comb options ranging from 1 to 30 samples, it is currently the most popular format in today’s market.
- Combs - colour-coded and heightadjustable - offer complete control over loading volume and well depth to a maximum 32-sample throughput.
- Coloured loading strips - for easy well detection when loading.
- Four comb slots - at 3.5cm intervals along the tray for faster separation of a maximum 120 samples.
- Multi-channel pipette compatible combs – with a maximum 30 sample throughput reduce gel loading time, while preparatory combs enable nucleic acids to be scaled-up for cloning.
- UV-transparent acrylic casting tray - allows the user to image the gel without risk of damage due to handling.
- Side handles - for safe and easy transportation around the laboratory.
- Buffer recirculation ports - may be connected to a peristaltic pump for buffer recirculation during electrophoresis to maintain buffer pH and prevent ionic gradient formation.
