New BioBasic AX (weak anion exchange) columns have a polyethyleneimine (PEI) ion exchange group and a polymer coating, specifically designed to give robust and clean performance in ion exchange of acidic proteins and peptides. 300Å pore size BioBasic AX columns provide exceptional reliability for ion exchange separations of acidic proteins, peptides, and other biomolecules through a combination of high purity silica and reproducible, stable bonding. The proprietary bonded phase ensures clean ionic fractions can be collected, allowing shorter column lengths to be used when compared to other ion exchange columns.

BioBasic SCX columns provide exceptional reliability for ion exchange separations of basic proteins, peptides, and other biomolecules through a combination of high purity silica and reproducible, stable bonding.
The proprietary bonded phase ensures clean ionic fractions can be collected, allowing shorter column lengths to be used when compared to other ion exchange columns.
BioBasic SCX columns are also recommended for multi-dimensional proteomic analysis. A 100 x 0.32mm KAPPA capillary column can be used to separate a protein into ionic fractions. The fractions are further analysed by LC/MS/MS using a reversed-phase BioBasic 18 capillary column (see BioBasic SCX Capillary Columns for further information).
