Preparation of samples for PCR amplification
The system is very effective for the extraction of RNA and DNA samples for real-time PCR amplification. It is easy to use but with extra care and following instructions to the dot. The results are reproducible. The Abbott chemistry system enables detection of all HIV sub-types in case of qualitative HIV PCR. The entire system was designed to remain free of contamination. Only the conductive tips and the reaction tubes are in contact with the sample, and these are non reusable. After sales service is good, though in some cases the field service engineers delay responding to the concerns raised by the users. Value for money is quite high when large numbers of samples are being analyzed routinely. What others need to know is that it is very important to use ultra-filtered water as the system fluid to ensure tubing remains clean for a very long period.

Determining HBV and HCV viral load and HCV genotype on plasma sample
Equipment very robust and safe, the results are reliable (reproducible results observed at all times we had the need to repeat samples or make validations), allows you to perform a lot of samples at the same time (which is great for labs with a large order of tests), easy to handle and requires little user manipulation (which minimizes errors and risk of contamination).
