The user interface is basically easy to use with simple, easy-to-follow functions It provides blocking system for easy gradient PCRs for primers of differing cycle conditions the 96-well means one can run 6 different reactions at a time (multiplex) and user can have three to four runs a day Unfortunately servicing of equipment is limited due to geographical location

It is a great machine with gradient option, it is the first PCR I got in my lab. The only limitation is the room temperature in Indian conditions, if room temperature goes above 30 °C the PCR stops working.

Worth the money, easy to use, time-saving.
PCR, DNA genotyping
Overall this thermo cycler is easy to use and affordable. The heating and cooling speeds are fast so the running time of PCR is relatively shorter than Eppendorf thermocycler. However, the heated lid did not seal the plates very well; very often the wells on the edges of 96-well plates dry up. However, when using thin-wall tubes, this machine works well. Another downside is it is only compatible with high-profile plates and tubes.

The MultiGene™ OptiMax employs a new protocol optimization process improving on older gradient features. The OptiMax utilizes FlexTemp™ technology that effectively separates the 96 well plate into 6 – (4 x 4) temperature regions that allow you to pick the temperatures you want to test against. These regions are easily identified by the blue and black squares visible on the microplate platen, Instead of having the thermal cycler choose temperatures for you, you can choose any temperatures you want within a 24°C range.
