ProLong® Gold Antifade Mountant with DAPI - 10mL
ProLong® Gold Antifade Mountant is a liquid mountant applied directly to fluorescently labeled cell or tissue samples on microscope slides. It contains chemical components designed to protect fluorescent dyes from fading (photobleaching) during fluorescence microscopy experiments, and delivers this protection without significantly quenching the initial fluorescence signal. Mounting of IHC slides
This is a mounting solution for microscopy cell viewing. First of all, this mounting solution has DAPI in it, which brings up the price as compared to a regular mounting solution. Since it already has DAPI inside, you cannot adjust the concentration of DAPI, so you have to adjust fluorescent exposure time to get a good figure. DAPI itself is a very specific DNA dye, so no problem with dye specificity. However, if you have multiple types of cells to work with, and you need an equal working concentration of DAPI, this is not the one to go with because the only way to have an equal DAPI concentration is to add same amount of mounting solution to the coverslips while sealing. You cannot wash the coverslips anymore after applying mounting solution.

slides mounting for confocal microscopy
This review is for 10ml unit size because it seems that all of the smalles sizes are packaged in a different containers. Mounting medium as such is very good but its application is TERRIBLE! 10ml is not in a drop bottle. Instead it has to be applied with a pipette or something else that allows to take it out from its container. This creates bubbles and wastes portion of the medium each time. Medium this expensive should be packaged in a better way. Recommended -20C storage is creating very big bubble problem. In -20C medium expands and turns semi-solid what creates tiny bubbles in the solution. Than when medium is brought to the RT for smoother application this bubbles do not go away what results in mounting full of air bubbles.

Immunolabelling
The ProLong Gold Antifade Mountant is a ready to use mountant liquid that can be directly applied to fluorescently labelled cell or tissue samples on microscope slides. The best feature is that cures for longer-term storage and samples are stable for months. There is little quenching but it's almost undetectable. I use it with Alexa Fluor dyes and it works great. IT comes with DAPI on it so it saves time as well on the last step!

ProLong® Gold Antifade Mountant is a curing mountant that forms a near-perfect optical path (1.47 RI) and allows longer-term storage of the sample. It comes ready-to-use (room temperatures storage and no mixing required)—just apply a drop to the sample, add a coverslip, cure, and image. ProLong® Gold mountant is available with or without DAPI nuclear stain.
Features:
- Protects dyes from fading during imaging
- Ready-to-use liquid that cures for longer-term storage
- Mounted samples are stable for months
- Maintains fluorescence signal—little to no quenching
- Ideal for Alexa Fluor® dyes
